As a native Oklahoman, it is great to be back in our home state on mission with Jesus at FBC Woodward. My journey began in 1990, when as a 19-year-old kid I
was given a copy of the Gospel of John that I could not put down. In spite of the deep conviction I was grappling with over my sin, God was faithful to draw me to Himself through the faithful teaching ministry of Southwood Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, led by Pastor Robert Haling. On August 10, 1990, while attending
Falls Creek Baptist Youth Camp, the Spirit of God transformed my heart through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Three years later, God called me to be a pastor. After
finishing my undergraduate studies, I attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX where I graduated in 1999. I have been serving as a
pastor ever since. All glory to God! I am happily married to the love of my life, and best friend, Donya. We have two boys, Connor (22) and Carson (14) whom we had the privilege of adopting. I enjoy reading, playing golf, traveling, peanut M&M’s and spending time with my family.

Music is one way we express our heart felt thanks to God for all the undeserved things He has graciously done for us. If He did nothing else we could spend eternity praising Him and it wouldn’t be enough. I was raised in a Christian home and gave my life to Christ at the age of 17. I attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Music Education. I also met the love of my life, Dawn, at college. She is a gift from God and she completes me. We moved to Woodward in 1988 where we both taught school. I loved teaching, but felt God had other plans for my life. After much prayer and soul searching I began my journey in the music ministry. I have been minister of music since 1992. 8 years bi-vocationally and full time for the past 14 years at FBC, Woodward. God has been so good to me! He’s given me a loving marriage, two beautiful daughters with great sons-in-law, the prettiest and smartest grandchildren, a wonderful extended family and fantastic friends. I’m grateful for His continued mercy and grace. It’s my desire to live for the King!

If there is a time to start teaching students about the Gospel the time is now. My parents did an amazing job raising me and my sister in church our whole lives and making certain we knew God was first in our lives. When I was 13 I went to Falls Creek for the first time and gave my life to Christ and was called to ministry when I was 18 and answered the call when I was 19. I went to college and graduated with my Associate’s degree in Pre-Secondary Education from Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology and transferred and graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with my Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies. I enjoy just about any activity that involves being outside and spending time with family when I can.
